O Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia de Rondônia (IFRO), por meio da Pró-Reitoria de Extensão (Proex), deu início a dois cursos de Formação Inicial e Continuada (FIC) em Porto Velho (RO), como parte do Projeto Mulher de Fibra. As aulas inaugurais ocorreram no dia 28 de abril nas instituições parceiras, reunindo alunas, representantes institucionais e parceiros do projeto.
Os cursos gratuitos oferecidos são de Assistente em istração, realizado em parceria com o Instituto Cristão de Capacitação Multidisciplinar (ICCM), e de Artesã em Biojoias, promovido em conjunto com a Associação Recicla Mais (Associação de Catadores, Mulheres, Artesãos e Coleta Seletiva e Materiais Recicláveis de Rondônia).
A turma de Assistente em istração está tendo aulas às terças, quintas e sextas-feiras, das 19 às 21 horas, na sede do ICCM, localizada na Avenida 7 de Setembro, nº 7.168, Bairro Cuniã. Já o curso de Artesã em Biojoias é ministrado às segundas, quartas e sextas-feiras, das 13h30 às 17 horas, na sede da Recicla Mais, na Rua Jaqueline Ferry, nº 1.490, Bairro Cascalheira. Ambas as formações têm carga horária de 39 horas.

Durante os eventos de abertura, estiveram presentes alunas matriculadas, representantes das entidades parceiras, e a Assessora do senador Confúcio Moura, Joana Pimentel, mais a Diretora de Programas e Projetos da Pró-Reitoria de Extensão (Proex/IFRO), Márcia Tesser.
Para Tesser, as ações do Projeto Mulher de Fibra reforçam o papel social do Instituto. “É gratificante ter o Instituto Federal de Rondônia participando como parceiro desse importante programa, levando capacitação para essas mulheres que terão suas vidas transformadas e impactadas através do conhecimento e da formação de mão de obra qualificada”, destacou.
Em outro momento, acrescentou: “É realmente inspirador ver instituições como o Instituto Federal de Rondônia se envolvendo em iniciativas que promovem a capacitação e transformação social. A formação de mão de obra qualificada não apenas empodera as mulheres, mas, também fortalece a comunidade como um todo”.
O Projeto Mulher de Fibra tem como objetivo fortalecer mulheres chefes de família, em situação de vulnerabilidade social e risco, cuja renda é geralmente complementada por programas como o Bolsa Família. A iniciativa é viabilizada por meio de emenda parlamentar do Senador Confúcio Moura e contempla mulheres atendidas por secretarias municipais de assistência social.
